How to hide Computer HDD Drives
Hi Friends,
Here is the tutorial, to hide your specific / all drives from your computer.
Step 01: First of all you have to click on START menu and choose RUN option.
Step 02: Type GPEDIT.MSC in RUN window and press OK. It will open a dialogue box GROUP POLICY
Step 03: Choose USER CONFIGURATION from left hand side panel.
Step 04: Then choose WINDOWS COMPONENTS which is inside ADMINISTRATIVE TEMPLATES
Step 05: Choose WINDOWS EXPLORER. By selecting Windows Explorer it shows the related contents on the right hand side panel.
Step 06: Select and double click to HIDE THESE SPECIFIED DRIVES IN MY COMPUTER, it will open a dialogue box.
Step 07: Click ENABLED radio button (white cirlce containing black dot) by default the Not Configured option is selected. Later, you have to choose one of the option from the drop down bar, whatever drive you want to HIDE. In my case I chosen RESTRICT ALL DRIVES.
Step 08: After choosing the the option RESTRICT ALL DRIVES click on APPLY button.
Step 09: Click on OK and close all the dialogue boxes.
Step 10: Open MY COMPUTER and see all the drives are GONE!! If you want to access any drive like C:/ D:/ E:/ whatever in you computer, you can type on the ADDRESS BAR manually and hit enter.
That’s all. And if you want to restore the changes you have to follow the steps from Step 01 to Step 06. But the only thing which is changed in step 07 is to choose radio button NOT CONFIGURED, then APPLY and finally OK. This will restore your changes.
Best Wishes
